Alto and Baritone saxophoneCharlotte Lang is a Swiss/Dutch alto and baritone saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser born in Basel, Switzerland.

 

Charlotte is not only a sought-after musician but also an inspiring composer, bandleader, and performer. With a strong passion for jazz and exceptional versatility, she plays in bands that cover various genres, including hip-hop, rock 'n' roll, soul, and funk.

She completed her Bachelor's in Jazz and her Master's in Jazz Pedagogy at the University of Music Basel, studying with Domenic Landolf, Dani Blanc, and Günter Wehinger.

 

In July 2023, she completed her Master's in Performance at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston, under the artistic direction of Danilo Pérez, and studied with John Patitucci, George Garzone, Godwin Louis, Frank Tiberi and Lauren Sevian.

 

She was part also of Terri Lyne Carrington's "Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice" and was chosen as one of five musicians for the "Sisters in Jazz" in 2023.

 

After completing her Master's studies, she will return to Switzerland in August 2023 to continue her musical journey and release her debut album in the coming year.
